Haycorn Cottage is a cosy one bedroomed
holiday cottage offering flexible accommodation
for up to 5 people but is most suitable for a couple or 3 singles.
It
has recently been sympathetically renovated and offers modern facilities
whilst retaining many original features including oak beams, slate
floor and a fireplace with cloam oven.
This sunny south facing cottage benefits from central heating with individual
radiator thermostats, as well as a multifuel stove in the living room
and a portable electric heater for instant warmth.
Ground Floor: Enter
the holiday cottage via a stable door into the living area with multifuel
stove, TV with freeview digital channels, DVD/CD player, dining table
and chairs and two sofas, one of which is a sofa-bed with sprung mattress
to make a comfortable second double bed. |
The kitchen area, adjoining the living room, is well equipped with
an electric cooker, fridge freezer and microwave.
A hand-built twisting elm and oak staircase leads to the first floor
accommodation.
First Floor: Bathroom with large shower cubicle, washbasin and toilet.
A spacious bedroom with superkingsize double (or twin beds) plus another
single bed and plenty of storage space.
Outside: Utility room with washing machine, tumble drier, shower and
toilet. Patio area with use of BBQ and garden furniture. Bird table.
From the garden there are far reaching rural views over the surrounding
farmland and as far as Dartmoor on a clear day. Offroad parking. |

Guests are also invited to enjoy the games room situated
in the garden with 6ft x 3ft slate bed snooker/pool table and dartboard.
Golf clubs, fishing tackle or other equipment can be safely stored in
here.
Rental includes central heating, electricity, logs, coal, bed-linen
and towels. (Please bring your own towels for beach/swimming use.)
There
are no hidden extras - we aim to keep the cottage supplied with all
the basics such as toilet rolls, washing up liquid and kitchen essentials. |
General information
We want you to enjoy staying here as much as we enjoy living in the
adjoining cottage and will welcome you with a complimentary cream tea.
We can arrange to have the fridge stocked ready for your arrival, with
local produce where possible.
You will find lots of useful information
leaflets in the cottage about where to go and what to do and you are
welcome to borrow the Ordnance Survey maps of the surrounding area.

Cornwall is very proactive in recycling and we hope you will support us
in our recycling and energy saving efforts.
We are now able to offer WIFI access for cottage guests. Mobile phone reception is generally good here. We operate a no-smoking policy in the cottage and regret that we cannot accommodate your pets.
A community shop with Post Office counter is now open daily in our local village of St. Germans. You can buy bread, milk, newspapers and pasties as well as a selection of fresh and frozen foods and other dry goods. The nearest supermarkets and banks are in Liskeard, Torpoint and Saltash. There are cafés and restaurants nearby and pubs serving food in St. Germans, Hessenford and Tideford where there is also a good butcher. Looe has a wide choice of places to eat and hosts Taste South East food events throughout the year. For retail therapy you need to go no further than across the road to Kernow Mill for clothing, gifts and golfing equipment, whilst the cities of Plymouth and Truro both offer a full range of shops.
Access Statement: The cottage is accessed from the gravelled parking area over a slate patio. A cobbled and paved path leads to the outside shower room and there is one step up to the lawn. There is a small pond and a well in the garden. Inside, the original slate floor is uneven and partly covered with rugs. Because of the beams, headroom is restricted in the living room (6ft max). A twisting wooden staircase with handrails leads upstairs to a landing with a step into the bedroom and a step to the bathroom. The old wooden floorboards in the bedroom slope and there are bedside rugs. Electric sockets are at skirting board level apart from in the kitchen where they are at worktop level.
