This area of Cornwall has much to offer the visitor including stunning coastal walks and beaches, quaint fishing ports and villages such as Looe, Polperro, Kingsand and Cawsand, spectacular wooded river valleys, the wild expanses of Bodmin Moor and National Trust houses and gardens including Antony House and Gardens, recently used as the film set for Alice in Wonderland. Whether you enjoy fishing, walking, golf, watersports, birdwatching or just relaxing, you will not be disappointed.
Just half a mile up the lane from the cottage you will find Bake Lakes which are open for trout and coarse fishing throughout the year. We offer fly fishing tuition with a licensed game angling instructor - a fun activity for all ages and abilities. In our local village of St. Germans you will find the Port Eliot Estate with its fascinating house and a beautiful old church. There is also a pub and well stocked community shop and post office. A few miles further and you will be on the Rame Peninsula, where from the Coast guard lookout on Rame Head you have a panoramic view of Whitsand Bay and the coastline, as well as access to the coastal path in both directions.
